- Letter of Resignation from the Fishing Committee chairman Jim Gersman 1799
David Decker: I would like to thank Jim for all his efforts; he has done a lot for the community with his efforts on behalf of the Fishing Committee.
Old Business
Presented by Glenn Dalton
We have gone through many extensions and found that we were able to do much more than we had originally intended. Our first priority was the Morning Glory repair. The second was cleaning out the silt basin at the north property. The bid that we had for the Morning Glory came in a lot better than we had initially thought. When we are coming out to our close out date on June 30th, we have some things that we feel are extremely important and we wanted to change some of the funding sites. One of them was additional rip rap on the dam; we did that with this grant. We also used some of the funds for the Su Twan over flow. We also want to put R-4 rip rap on the upstream base of the silt basin to ensure that we are reducing the silt coming in during high water events. There was a culvert on Su Twan drive that was only 12 inches so we replaced it to our 20 year standard with DCEO funds. We put in for a budget modification to allow us to do all these other things and put it under construction and materials. That was just approved; we got the final paper work on Monday. We currently have about $2,500 left in DCEO and at the end of closing we have to have an audit on it, which will be the week after 4th of July. I would like to use the final amount for some R-4 rip rap and take it up to the silt basin. DCEO has been a very good thing for this community. It has allowed the board to do some things that were sorely needed in this community.
Note: Scott Webber has joined the meeting.
- Waste Removal Negotiations
Scott Webber: Last meeting there was a motion and a second to approve the Allied Waste Contract, pending a bid from a second company. They never got back to us, a phone vote was made and it was unanimous to accept the Allied Waste Contract. We need to publish the new rates and when they take effect. Thank you to Jim for leading that effort, you will see your rates decrease over the next 5 years.
- Nomination of Dan Weisner to the Fishing Committee Chair
Scott Webber: I understand you did read the Jim Gersman letter. Jim mentioned we consider Dan Weisner as the chairman of the committee.
Action: David Decker motions to nominate Dan Weisner to the Chair of Fishing Committee, Joe Nicoloff seconds.

- Variance Request Mark Thornsberry 198
Read by Don Austin
Mark Thornsberry of 198 is in attendance.
Gerry Theodor 1346: He wants to put a roof over the top of his porch (stoop) and it encroaches on that easement by 3 or 4 feet. But there is an existing concrete stoop that goes out that far and this will not go past it. The Dam road is a township road and its easement is 80ft so this is still really far back from that road.
David Decker: Can you explain the 80ft easement versus the 25ft easement versus the encroachment?
Gerry Theodor 1346: the 80ft easement is the total road easement on the Dam road. From the center of the road you go 40ft either way. Our easements are probably 40-50ft. What I am saying is even though this thing encroaches on the property line if you measured it from the road it is probably still going to be farther than some of our houses from the road because of the much wider easement on the side of the road. It’s not going to look like the porch is sitting on the road. It is one of the few houses on the Dam road that faces the Dam road.
Action: Joe Nicoloff motions to approve the variance, Don Austin seconds.

- Building Committee Update
Presented by Gerry Theodor 1346
We have a situation that I want to make you aware of, because it has the potential of making it to one of these meetings. As you are aware we deal with situations of violations of our rules and they are out there for many reasons. Some is just because they did it so long ago and there wasn’t proper follow up, no permit etc. It has always been a practice to ignore these violations from long ago that have been there for years. The building committee, what we have done is we don’t feel that we can change these rules. Our policy has been that we ignore them until the people want to replace or repair the item in violation and then we make them conform to the rules. The situation we have here, people came in 2 weeks ago for a permit to add two docks to their lake front property on the main channel of the lake. On this property there exists a 32ft dock; it has been there for many years. In case you are not aware, 16ft is the maximum length of a dock on the main channel. When the permit was brought to us with the two docks on either side, I asked the people who were there I asked them if they were going to do any work on the 32ft part of the dock because if they are we are going to make them chop 16ft off of it. They said they were not. So we approved the permit, then Tuesday the request was made for a refund request. When Jim Perotti went out to check this he found that this 32ft dock had some 4x4 posts replaced and it looks like bracing has been replaced, both side runners have been replaced and the complete deck has been replaced. We refused to close the permit or refund them and I can’t tell you this for a fact but I am pretty sure that Jim has already informed them that we expect 16ft taken off of that dock. I just want you to be aware incase they come to you. Also they have 2 lifts on either side of the dock and they are considered part of the dock too. The only thing that can overhang a dock is a boat.
