Pledge of Allegiance Recited
Scott Webber: Holiday Shores lost a valued member on Monday. Tonight was his visitation tomorrow is his funeral. Lieutenant Cory McConnell was a tremendous guy, I did not know him all that well, but I know David Decker did. He was an all around great person, never asked for anything in return and was always the first to help. He served on the Fire Department for 16 years and if you didn’t know Cory you probably did because he was at nearly every 911 call and everything else the fire department did. I know I speak for the board, staff and the Association when I say our thoughts and prayers are with Cory’s family and with the Holiday Shores Fire Department as well.

• Joe Roth 1030 request to have a Classic Boat Show in Holiday Shores, sponsored by the Social Committee
Conversation Ensues
Joe Roth 1030: I talked to Rob Simmons and he was more than willing to be at the launch ramp area. The boat owners know they would have to provide insurance for their boats. Plus the St. Louis Chapter of the Antique Outboard Motor Club, which I am the president, has a $500,000 blanket coverage for our meets, and the Classic Boats Society also has a policy to cover them. Our intention is to show the community these beautiful boats. These gentlemen would not be out running them around the lake. This display would be Saturday May 7, 2011 from 10:00 AM until about 4:00 PM and Security is willing to lead a boat parade around about 2:00 PM where they would do one lap around the lake and possibly have some parked at the dock so people could look at them in the water. There also may be some antique cars and motorcycles.
Don Austin: So your plan was to run a parade around the main body of the lake, pull them out of the water and display them here?
Joe Roth 1030: Yes.

Action: Gary Kluckman motions to accept Joe Roth’s request to host an antique boat show and antique outboard motor meet sponsored by the Social Committee, Ray Garber seconds.
Scott Webber: The only comment I have is if we get a lot of heat for this, we may have to amend it not being on the water and just in the parking lot.
Joe Roth 1030: That was our plan if it wasn’t approved for the water. There should be about 15 boats plus or minus.

Old Business
Scott Webber: We have a Report of condition and bid from Vandemeter Engineering to replace the Morning Glory gate. Their conclusions are that this 45 year old gate operation is still fully operational and is in no danger of a catastrophic failure. All the major gate components are in considerably good condition with the exception of the gate sealing surfaces. As long as the holiday shores personnel are ok with the slightly excessive leakage. I see no reason to replace the gate installation immediately; however Hydro gate has provided a bid for an entirely new 30x30 stainless steel gate installation complete with new gear boxes, stems and accessories if they choose to replace. If I am reading this right, the bid is $8,400.00 and not with installation.
Glenn Dalton: That is correct.
Conversation Ensues
Action: No Action needed, pursuing additional cost bid on the installation, to be discussed at the next meeting.
Nothing new to read into the record; Rule to be voted on at the December 8th meeting
Glenn Dalton: The permits are being submitted tomorrow, the one that we are going to have a problem with is the Archeological study that will have to be done. It will be the longest and hardest one to get. We are waiting for them to come out to do the walk through. As far as the bids, the documents are out, the guide lines have been advertised in the Alton Telegraph, and we are having a pre-bid meeting on the 23rd of November at 10:00 AM at this office.
Glenn Dalton, It has been put off until after the first of the year
